Impression Confession: Maybelline's MasterShape Eyebrow Pencil

I have a confession to make...       Not all things are as pretty as they seem... Long story short, I was on the hunt at Target first and than Walmart to find my beloved Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil. In both stores my color was gone, along with an array of other shades, which goes to show you how awesome that pencil is. So, I decided to try out a different one from the same brand and give it a go.

At Walmart the MasterShape Brow pencil cost me around $6.64, about a dollar less than my pencil of choice. I figured since it was a little more in cost it must be great!

Firstly, what I love about this pencil is the great spoolie-brush they have to comb through your brows. It is dense enough to make a difference and pull the product through the hairs. Much better than the plastic-no-good comb that accompanies the packaging of the Define-A- Brow.

The product itself took me by surprise! I was expecting a drier pencil, but it is a soft wax pencil that glides onto the brows! Just make sure you apply this with a light hand and light strokes and always use the brush to brush the product through your brows. The wax formula tames them nicely and the staying power is phenomenal!

Now onto the very bad~ Well, as much as I love the product and the formula, there is one major detail that I despise about this pencil that completely turns me off from wanting to repurchase this, despite how awesome it preforms...and that would be the fact that it is horrible to sharpen!

At first I was majorly confused when the tip got dull. I was thinking I had to twist the end to get more product out, but no... Than I had a heart attack and thought that was the end of its use, because as you can see in the picture above the whole pencil is nothing but plastic, not a typical eyeliner that you sharpen.

So, I took my Loreal eyeliner sharpener and went to town trying to sharpen this crazy piece of plastic packaging and it took some grimacing but I did it. Hey, even the maybelline website said to use this with a sharpener, so that answers my question. The only down side is that it leaves you with a jagged edge, which is a fail. Really, have you ever in your life had to sharpen a piece of plastic?!?!

I am at a loss, because I do not understand why they could not have made this twist out like the Define-A-Brow...It would make me want to repurchase this again because it has the wax and the color in one handy dandy pencil. If they get this problem fixed than this would be a brilliant product that I would not hesitate to repurchase. As of now, once this is used up and done, I am going to be on the search for my Define-A-Brow!

Trust me, if you skip it, you won't miss it!

Wet n Wild "Club Havana" Nail Polish

I have a confession to make...       I despise Wet n Wild nail polish in general, at least in the past. The Shine Nail formula would always chip on my nails and toes the very next day, it was a pain! I tried a few since they were priced at 99 cents but threw them all away a few years ago because I never wore them. They were a waste of my time.

Yet, I had heard from a few people, well, actually a lot of people, that they love the Mega Last nail polish line from Wet n Wild and that they highly recommend it, especially since it is only $1.99, at least at Rite Aid. Despite my inner voice telling me not to do it, I defied it and picked out the color "Club Havana" since it stood out to me as an unusual color that I did not already have.

In the bottle it looks like a pretty creamy melon color, but when applied with two coats, as seen in the picture above, it is a slightly bright pumpkin orange color. Not the color I was expecting, but very pretty for summer when my skin gets a little more sun!

I applied two coats, but highly suggest three, otherwise it is streaky and uneven. True opacity shows up with three coats and looks much better.

The brush is something people have raved about and I am not sure I agree with them on this. The brush is wider than a typical Sally Hansen nail polish brush. Wet n Wild calls it a ManiCurve Pro Brush, and I will say it sweeps nicely over the nails. BUT I find it a little too big for my nails personally. I don't think I have small narrow nails, but for some reason this brush seems too big so I have to be extra careful! But, if you want to save time on application, this brush will cover more surface area, just take your time to apply!

The wear time on these is waaay better than the Shine Nail line they have and I prefer this formula over the other any day. After about three days I did notice some chipping, so to me it performed wonderfully!

Even though I am not a fan of the huge brush it has, I still am curious to test out some other colors and see how they perform before I fall in love with this line of nail polish.

Glad I tried this! How about you?

Sally Hansen's "Breezy Blue" Nail Polish

I have a confession to make...           I fell in love with this light sky blue nail polish when I was perusing the isles of Walmart last week. Of all the nail polishes I saw, I had similar ones already and I was not interested. But, I could not take my eyes away from this color! It is Sally Hansen's "Breezy Blue" Hard As Nails Extreme Wear nail polish.

Please ignore the rough paint job. I did not have time to clean up
around the edges and I wanted to take a quick pic before I went about
my day.

As you already know, this line of Sally Hansen nail polishes is my all time favorite because it does not bubble or chip as readily as other polishes I have tried in the past. So, I give this formula two thumbs up!

The color is unique and you won't quickly see another color like this from all the nail polish lines out there. I would describe it as a light sky blue with a subtle undertone of grey. It reminds me of a crisp cool Spring day, perfect for the warmer months to come and would really stand out with a nice light tan!

Love this color!
