My Thoughts On Bath And Body Works Vanilla Coconut

I have a confession to make...          I have turned into a Bath and Body Works fiend this past year. I had always wanted to try their candles and finally caved when they had a sale and from there my obsession kept growing, but that is a whole nother blog... What I despise is the coupons they send when you buy stuff so I am always suckered into buying more, which I save money in the long run, but I am spending more money than I need to on things I do not necessarily need.

I know, a vicious cycle indeed...

So, when they had their semi-anual sale I decided I would limit myself to what I would buy. I bought a friend some things for a graduation present but than also thought I would try out something new for myself. I could not resist! I picked up the Vanilla Coconut body lotion and the accompanying fragrance mist from their signature collection. I am a huge fan of anything coconut and anything vanilla and thought this would be the perfect tropical combination. Originally the body lotion was $10.50 and the fragrance mist was $12.00. I got the lotion on sale for $4.00 and the mist on sale for a friendly $5.00.

Well, when I received these in the mail the other day (I ordered online cause it is easier for me than going to the actual store sometimes), I tried these out and was taken by surprise. I was not hit by an overwhelming tropical smell of coconut, sunscreen and fruity drinks. This is more of a sophisticated coconut fragrance that I happen to enjoy very much.

After overcoming my initial shock, I kept smelling my wrists trying to imagine how I could describe this scent best. The only way I know how is to tell you that this smells like creamy coconuts. Like thick coconut milk mixed with vanilla. It is a pleasant sweet, but not too sweet, scent.

This is how Bath and Body Works website describes this fragrance:

The body lotion is described as "a sensuous blend of toasted coconuts and warm vanilla."

The fragrance mist is described as "a tropical twist of coconut milk and cool vanilla."
Top Notes: Juicy bergamot, lemon zest, watery green apple, pineapple sorbet
Middle Notes: Black currant, sheer muget, jasmine, creamy coconut
Base Notes: Exotic vanilla, white musk, sandalwood

Overall I am quite pleased with my small purchase and would recommend this to you if you are a lover of coconut as well! Hope that you guys took advantage of the semi-annual sale Bath and Body Works have going on right now. I admit, I would have bought more, but a few weeks before this I had purchased from them already... See, I am a sucker, aren't I?

Happy Semi-Annual Sale Shopping to you!

Impression Confessions: Chapstick's Delightful Treats!

I have a confession to make...           I am a sucker for anything cupcake. Seriously, who can resist a cute, fluffy sweet treat?  When I had heard, maybe two months ago that Chapstick had come out with two new flavors catering to those of us who are in love with bakery scents, I knew I had to get my hands on them. BUT... I was late to the game and I could not find them anywhere!

I gave up, until... I went to WalMart last week and I was in the check out lane and glanced over at the shelves where they keep those last minute items to try and tantalize you into buying what you truly do not need (for some reason I can be a sucker for those things). Thankfully I looked over, because I happened to spot the Limited Edition Chapstick's that I had given up on months ago!

They were each in their own box just beckoning to me, and I grabbed TWO of the Cake Batter Chapsticks and ONE of the Velvet Cupcake Chapsticks. I had heard Cake Batter was the better smelling of the two, so since they were limited edition, I had to grab what I could.

Let's start with Velvet Cupcake- It is red, and you would think would leave a tiny tint of red on the lips, but it goes on completely clear on my lips. The smell is not my favorite and I could live without this one. It smells like cheap chocolate cherries. Not pleasant for my taste.

Now onto Cake Batter- Hands down this is my FAVORITE!!!! It is a clear color and thus goes on clear, which is fine for me. The smell is what I adore the most since it straight up smells like a vanilla cupcake with creamy buttercream frosting. To my nose, I smell a little caramel in there, just adding to the sugary sweetness.

My only regret is that I didn't pick up more Cake Batter ones, but next time I am at WalMart I am high tailing it to all the check out stands and buying several more of the Cake Batter! You guys better seek these out before they are all gone!

Remember, they are Limited Edition....

Impression Confessions: Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss

I have a Confession to make....         and it is one that is looooong overdue, and you probably realize that by now. But, I have been a long time fan of Revlon lip products and in particular their Colorburst lipgloss line that come in the tall squared tubes. I have forever been meaning to write a review about these, but I know everyone and their mother has tried these. So, this is just my impressions I would like to share with you.

I first started with the color Papaya, which is a beautiful coral-orange color. I adore this color in the summer time especially, but I wear it all year round, because I am a rebel like that ;) It is not completely shimmer proof, for I do notice a tiny bit of TINY shimmer particles in there, but nothing noticeable. I think it just adds to the shine-factor.

Than I purchased the color Orchid, because I found it on clearance at Target a few months ago and was drawn to the soft purple-pinkish color. This is a very flattering shade, even with the extremely fine shimmer it has. There are no chunks of glitter, thankfully. It only makes your lips shine even more.

The next color I have is called Bordeaux, which a few month ago I searched for a few times and every time it was sold out. I think it was because it was a highly talked about color on YouTube for awhile. When I finally found it in stalk I grabbed one and it was 40% off at my local Rite Aide, so YEA! This is a gorgeous deep berry color with extra fine shimmer particles to it as well.

Left to Right: Bordeaux, Orchid, Papaya

No glitter, only shimmer!

The applicator is a lovely rounded sponge tip that is flat on both sides, which I happen to like, making for smooth application. It helps when applying the gloss to the edges of the lip.

For those sensitive to smell, these have no scent at all! Amazing, isn't it? So, you can wear these and your nose won't pucker in revulsion. Me, personally, I do not mind a scent as long as it doesn't have a heavy floral smell like some lipsticks I have tried. GAG!

Wear time on these is typical for a lipgloss. Talking and eating and drinking will wear off the color and shine, but these never promised long wear. So, be prepared to apply throughout the day as needed. I don't mind that myself.

The formulation is so very creamy and pleasant. In no way is it sticky, even after immediate application. I never notice it feeling dry or tacky after having worn it for a few hours. It is an easy experience wearing this gloss.

You no doubt own a drawer full of these lovely lippies, and I envy you. I cannot wait to get my hands on more of these. After all, these are my favorite lipgloss from the drugstore, hands down!
