Beauty For Real True Color Lip Cream, "Always There"

As a lipgloss junkie I know exactly what I want in a lipgloss and what will entice me to go back for more. I always get excited over lip products, so when Boxycharm included a lip cream from Beauty For Real in their January box, I was thrilled to try out this brand that is new to me!

This retails on Beauty For Real's website for $22.00 and comes in five different shades. They call this a lip cream that has high impact and is saturated with color that provides long lasting wear. This is exactly what I want in a lipgloss!

This comes nicely boxed and the tube itself is your typical lipgloss tube, BUT...

Handy mirror

As you can see from the above pictures, you are presented with a unique handy package, because it has a built in mirror that is just the right size to be able to see where you are applying the gloss. I like this feature, because you don't have to root around in your purse for a compact mirror, for we all know it is always buried under all our other junk in there!

The button to turn he light on

All lit up!

Now they truly have thought of everything, because the applicator also has a built in LED light for those times when you are applying your gloss in badly lit places. I was wondering when this feature would be used exactly, and without it bringing attention to yourself. Yet, I am sure that someday when I am least expecting it, I will get to use this mini flashlight for the lips! It's kind of gimmicky in my opinion, but it has no bearing on the product itself.

The wand is a doe foot applicator, which is what I prefer in a lipgloss, because I find that it provides a precise application. This allows the gloss to apply easily and effortlessly.

"Always There"

"Always There" is described on their website as a your lips, only better lip color, claiming that this will give you an enhanced natural color to your own lip color. Well, this is a lot brighter and more rosy-pink than my natural lip color, and I am sure a lot of people would agree. I adore the beautiful color, but in no way will this come off as natural!

This can be built up in color for a more intense rosy-pink, or applied lightly for a muted version of this color. Either way, this is highly pigmented and the color comes off extremely saturated. This lip cream delivers on the punch of color it promised and I am very pleased about that!

This lip cream glides like a gel onto the lips, the texture is that smooth! It sinks in and feels like I am not wearing any kind of lip product, which is amazing because the color is so rich! Needless to say, there is no stickiness nor tackiness to this lip cream, which I appreciate because it is one of the most comfortable lip creams/glosses I have ever worn that delivers on this amount of color!

The longevity is outstanding! I can be drinking water, coffee, eating and going about my day, and while the color does fade a bit, there is still a saturation of color that hangs on strong! Even as it fades, it leaves my lips feeling soft, never dried out! This is definitely a long lasting lip product that stands out from the rest!

Many will be pleased to know that this lip cream has no scent, so it will not be bothersome!

I love this lip cream and it is worth the $22 that you will spend on it, because it is a pleasure to wear and the performance lasts until you want to take it off!

I can't wait to try more!

Mirabella Face Prime

I haven't found Mirabella beauty products in any of my local retail stores, so I was excited to receive their foundation face primer in my Boxycharm last month! I love wearing a faithful primer because if it works like it should, it keeps my makeup on all day. Let's see how this one measured up!

Mirabella Face Prime retails for $29.00 on their website and claims to minimize the appearance of large pores and fine lines. They say to use this sparingly and it creates the perfect base for your foundation.

This is a squeeze tube, which I really do like, because it is so easy to just squeeze a small amount out. This would be easy to travel with because the tube is so skinny and long. There is no need to haul a bulky pump primer along with you when you have a space saver like this one!

The product is clear and silky and smoothes out beautifully on the face. For me, it feels a little different from some other primers that I have used before. With this one, when I smooth it out, it feels almost a little too silky, almost on the slicker side.

I love how this has no scent whatsoever so you never have to worry about any irritating fragrance bothering your nose throughout the day.

As far as the performance of this product, I am sadly disappointed in this, because it doesn't hold up to the oils in my face nor does it minimize the fine lines around my mouth where my foundation would settle without a faithful primer. This seems to slide down my face along with the rest the makeup I am wearing. Unfortunately, no matter how often I have tested the product out, this happens just three hours into wearing it...

Everyone is different and this will perform differently on everyone. Yet, I would not recommend this for oily faced gals like myself, because I have a feeling that Mirabella's Face Prime cannot hold up under that test!

Have you guys tried any of their other beauty products? Which ones have you liked or even disliked?

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss In, "Smooth Talker"

Here I am to review yet another lipgloss once again, this time from bareMinerals! It's their Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in the color, "Smooth Talker". This came in a bareMinerals beauty kit that I received as gift with a bunch of goodies from their line.

This lipgloss alone retails on Sephora's website for $18.00 and comes in fourteen different shades. They claim that this lipgloss will hydrate the lips with sheer pure color. Lets see what I thought about this gloss!

Firstly, this lipgloss smells heavenly! When I put this gloss on, it smells just like mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is my favorite ice cream of all time, so I am a huge fan of this scent! It will linger on the lips for a little while after wearing it, which I do not mind a bit.

The formula is perfect, because this is not sticky at all and it goes on smooth and evenly with no annoying tacky feeling. When first applying the lipgloss this feels immediately cooling; even after worn for a while, this still leaves the lips feeling cool. After this has worn off, I find my lips are left still feeling comfortable, refreshed and hydrated. This has become one of my favorite lipgloss formulas!

"Smooth Talker"

The color is a pretty golden peachy color that is definitely sheer, allowing your true lip color to shine through underneath. In no way is this saturated with pigmentation, but it definitely adds a gorgeous light peachy-pink sheen and golden sparkle to the lips. This is a wonderful everyday lip color that is appropriate for day and also night!

I love this lipgloss and hope to try even more of these amazing Marvelous Moxie lip glosses, because the formula and the scent is spot on!

What are your favorite colors? Please do share!

Mally Beauty Liquid Light Eyecolor In, "Champagne"

I am not going to proclaim my love for Mally Beauty this time, because if you have read my blog in the past you already know how much I am in love with her amazing makeup! I will however give you my opinion on a product of hers that I received in her Black Friday special goodie bag that she had this past November.

This is her Liquid Light Eyecolor in the color, "Champagne" and when I went to search her website, this product did not turn up, so I am assuming that this might be discontinued. But, I have seen these sold on Ebay and I am sure if you search other beauty websites you can find it there. So, if this is something that you are interested in, or something you have tried in the past that you would like to purchase once more, search the internet for the best price, because they are out there!

This is such a pretty mint green packaging, I love this color! The top screws on and off and reveals a plastic tip where the powder pours out. Now, this was very intriguing to me, because I had no clue what to expect with this product. I went online and found a video from Mally herself explaining and showing how to use this product.

Carefully tap some of the powder into the top of the cap and than you take your eyeshadow brush and swirl the powder around. It than goes from a powder consistency to somewhat of a wetter formula. Not quite a cream, not a liquid, but a wet powder.

Take your eyeshadow brush and apply the shadow onto the lids and it feels wet and cooling, but it goes on like a powder! It is seriously an awesome sensation on the lids! I can see why she calls this a liquid eyeshadow and it stays put and lasts all day long!

This is such a pretty light golden color that brightens the eyes and brings beautiful shine to the lids! This is a soft and natural color that is definitely made for every skin tone.

Honestly, there is nothing unique about this eye color, but the formula is what makes it different. The powder to "liquid" (wet) consistency is what makes this stick to the lids and last all day. Yet, this is a process to apply if you don't have the time nor the desire to pour the product out and swirl it around and than apply it to the lids. There are steps to this application, so this may be a special product that you would want to use when you want your eyeshadow to last all day or night. I know on special occasions I don't mind spending a little extra time on my makeup and getting ready!

If you are intrigued by this product, go ahead and try this out if you can find it! It is a pretty neat formula with some fun, if time consuming, application. But, you will not be disappointed!

BareMinerals Well-Rested Face And Eye Brightener

I have become a fan of BareMinerals products this past year, because I find that they are of high quality and their performance is outstanding! When I received their Well-Rested Face And Eye Brightener in a recent Sephora beauty kit, I was very excited to try this out!

This retails on Spephra's website for $22.00 and comes in one color, Clear, which they say is suitable for all skin tones. They claim that this will highlight and illuminate the skin, while minimizing dark spots, wrinkles, lines and discolorations over time.

To get the product out, you twist the bottom of the pen until the product comes out of the middle of the brush tipped applicator. I like products like this, because you can crank out as much or as little as you like and not feel like you have wasted any product.

This is the typical plastic brush tipped applicator and the product comes cleanly out the middle. Personally, for the face, I am not a huge fan of this type of application, because the tip will get dirty from using it over and over. As far as hygiene, this is not the most sanitary way to apply the product onto your skin.

Above on the left is a swatch of the product squeezed and brushed out out and on the right,  it is  sheered out. Initially when applying, this has a creaminess that becomes slightly tacky that then dries down and will not budge.

They say that you can wear this on bare skin or over makeup, depending on your preference and the look that you want that day.

Now, I have heard that some people have tried this out underneath the eyes, and some like it, some hate it. I personally hate it for under the eyes, because this is such a reflective product, that it looks ashy and extremely strange. Because it is reflective, it highlights the fine lines under the eyes, and the look is ghastly on me! Thus, I am not a fan of using this under the eyes.

However, if this is blended out on the cheekbones, inner eyes, or the bridge of the nose this looks beautiful! It highlights without it looking sparkly and overdone.

This is a nice highlighter that I know I can rely on because it will not budge and it looks subtle.

Another great product from BareMinerals that I found I enjoy!

Rimmel Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Colour In, "I'll Call You"

Rimmel has been coming out with some brand new products lately, and their Provocalips lipstick really grabbed my attention. When I had read that this claims to be not just kiss proof and transfer proof, but food proof, too, I was instantly intrigued!

I purchased this in the color, I'll Call You, and this retails for around $7.00 at the drugstore and comes in eight different colors all together. Rimmel says that this product will feel comfortable to wear on the lips, leaving them moisturized all day long. Let's see if this lipstick is worth all the hype around it!

I cannot start this review without addressing the down right adorable lip prints on the end of the package where the clear lipgloss is! It is just too cute not to address first! So, now that that is out of the way.... ;)

Both ends twist off, and the end with the lip prints all over it is the part of the tube that holds the clear gloss that goes over the lipstick after it sets. The other end is the lipstick itself and both have the same type of doe foot applicator. The applicator is typical as any other and does a great job applying the lipstick. I am a fan of doe foot applicators because I find that it helps to outline the lips, which is so important when you are working with a highly pigmented product!

I will mention that I really like how this has the two products all in one convenient packaging. There are a few other lip products similar to this that need a balm or gloss to go over it to give the lips some moisture or shine that comes in a completely separate package. Rimmel hit it on the spot with the convenience of the product!

The first step you take, of course, is applying the lipstick itself. They recommend keeping your lips separated for one minute while you wait for the lipstick to set. There is no scent to this lipstick, for those who hate scented lipsticks, you will be very pleased.

Step 2 is applying the clear gloss over the lipstick to lock the lipstick in place and add some shine. Maybe it is just me, but I detect a slightly faint-hard-to-notice sugary scent to this gloss, but it is undetectable when you apply it.

They claim that when you wear this lipstick it won't feel tight on your lips and they are right! This is so comfortable to wear because the gloss does add moisture to the lips and gives them a pretty shine. Even after eating two meals with this on, the gloss did come off, but the lipstick itself stayed locked on my lips with minimal fading! Usually with certain foods the lipstick will fade drastically away because of the oils, but, it stayed put very well!

After wearing for seven hours

My lips did not feel dried out after the gloss faded or after wearing this for seven hours. I was so very happy, because I found myself completely in love with the formula of this lipstick and how wonderful it wore on the lips throughout the day.

All the claims of this product are absolutely true! Although, I cannot confirm it lasts for 16 hours, but it sure lasted for the seven hours I wore this. For me, that is good enough!

I cannot wait to buy more of these lipsticks, because I can promise you that this is my new love!

Have you tried any other colors? Please let me know which ones you love!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

Let's face it, there are those days when we just feel plain lazy and absolutely dread the thought of shampooing, conditioning, blowdrying and styling our hair! That's when dry shampoo comes in handy, but it must be an absolutely fail-proof dry shampoo.

So, I was pumped up to try Drybar's Detox Dry Shampoo, which I received in a Sephora Glitz and Glam beauty bag. This is in it's original formula, not the one made specifically for brunettes, which would be best for us dark haired ladies. The full sized version of this retails for $22.00 on Sephora's website.

The claims of this product are that the product absorbs excess oils, impurities and odor while adding volume to the hair. This says that the product will blend perfectly into the hair and won't leave any product behind, while claiming that this will also prolong your blowout! These are all things that I only dream about in a dry shampoo!

Let's see if it lived up to its promises!

Lets start with the product itself... When you spray this, this comes out extremely powerful! As with all dry shampoos, spray this a few inches away form your roots and let it absorb into your hair before your rub it in with your fingers. The formula is amazing, because it truly absorbs the oil that is left in my hair and takes a way the greasy feeling that builds up with my second day hair. This dry shampoo does that job the best out of the many that I have tried!

As for volume, yes, it gives the typical volume that any dry shampoo will typically give you. Not bad, I must say, because it is satisfactory. By the second day, my limp hair needs an extra pump of volume and this gets the job done!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo: One quick pump!
See how much product comes out! Make sure you spray quickly and evenly

Dry shampoo rubbed out a bit.
Notice how very powdery it is, which absorbs the oils amazingly!

What I despise about this is the horrid blast of white product that this leaves in my hair. It is straight up baby powder white! The white product sat on the top of my roots and did not blend easily at all. It left my hair looking as if it had a light tint of grey at the roots. Not flattering! However, I am sure that it  must blend in easily with blonde colored ladies out there, but as for us dark haired ladies, try out the one made specifically for brunettes (which I have NOT tried myself), hopefully it blends more easily.

I need my dry shampoo to make my hair smell fresh and clean, and this positively does not deliver, which is a huge disappointment! They claim that this is going to absorb any odor, but it leaves me with a strange cedar like scent, which is not what I want my hair to smell like. Unfortunately, this scent sticks to the hair all day long, and does not go away. It gets obnoxious, because even I can smell it as I go about my day and it is unpleasant. My hair smells like freshly cut cedar wood, which is a smell that does not belong in the hair...

I really love how this product performs, but the issue I have with this is the smell! (We will not mention the white cast it left in my hair, because I believe this will work great for light colored hair, I am eager to try the one for brunettes!) I cannot get over the scent, it is that strong and it will not fade! YUCK! If they came out with one that smells lovely, than I would purchase this product in the one for brunettes. Otherwise, I sadly shall have to pass, based on the smell...

What's your favorite dry shampoo out there? I know there is so many out there to try anymore!

Have A Wonderful Day!
