Too Faced Melted Kisses Gift Box

I have always been curious about Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, but what deterred me from buying one was the price tag. I wasn't sure if I would love the product and I didn't want to spend the money on it and end up feeling disappointed and left wondering, what was so special about these? So, I was excited when I saw a gift set called Melted Kisses that included four deluxe sized samples of Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks!

I purchased this for a steal at Sephora for $25.00! One full sized product retails for $21.00, so this is the perfect gift set to buy for yourself to test the lipstick out to see if this is something you love enough to buy the full sized version of. Or, if you know a lipstick lover out there, this will be the perfect gift!

Too Faced claims that this is a long wear formula that will leave you with a stain on your lips. It is supposed to give you the shine of a gloss but the pigmentation of a lipstick. So, I gave these a whirl to see if they lived up to these promises!

When I first applied this I quickly realized that all I needed to do was squeeze just a little bit of the product out of the tube, because the pigmentation is insane! The texture is so creamy that it spreads smoothly onto the lips with a burst of beautiful color.

Because this is a long wear formula, this isn't going to be a creamy hydrating lipstick/gloss, but neither it is suffocatingly drying. There are some matte and long wear lipsticks out there that will leave you with dry and chapped lips, but not these! These are creamy enough to leave your lips feeling smooth, but as the day goes on and you eat and drink you will lose that shine and creamy feeling and will be left with your lips feeling just a little dry. BUT, it's not a horribly drying feeling.

As for the color that is left on your lips after a few hours, it holds well! Of course, there is fading, but the color is still there, just toned down and muted. You can reapply the lipstick on top and it applies like a dream, still creamy and smooth without looking cakey.

For those who are concerned about scent, there is a subtle sweet scent to these, but it is not sickly sweet at all. It's so subtle, some people may not even notice it. After applying it, the scent does fade away very quickly.

The applicator is an angled velvet tip with fine holes where the product squeezes out, and remember just a little is enough, so squeeze gently! The claim is that this applicator is supposed to give you a precise application, which it truly does. I think because the applicator is angled, it fits and glides right along the lines of your lips easily. You could also use a lip brush that would allow for even more perfect application.

I am sure you are awaiting the swatches, so without further ado, here they are!

Aren't they just gorgeous colors!? I will say that Melted Fuchsia is definitely a lot more hot pink than the camera is picking up, so this color is not for the faint of heart!

Overall, I think that this set has enough variety for people of all color tastes and preferences to be satisfied, and you will get a color or two that maybe isn't in your comfort zone. But, it sure is nice to have some colors to play with and have on hand for special occasions!

Purchasing this set has satisfied my curiosity and has started me longing to purchase a full size of another color or few to add to my collection. Sephora has ten whole colors to chose from that range from neutral to bold, so I cannot wait to play around with them!

Get your hands on this gift set, for yourself or a friend, and I promise you that you will not be disappointed!

Bare Minerals One Hot Mama

I was so pleased to receive Bare Minerals One Hot Mama beauty kit from a thoughtful friend recently! Inside where beauty products that I had not tried before, and you know how I feel about value kits, so I was so excited to try these things out!

For this post I will show you the kit itself so that you can see if this is something that you would like to purchase before it sells out on Ulta.com.

This is a $98 dollar value that you pay only $39 dollars for! Definitely, you can see why value kits are amazing and why I like to grab them up so much!

This comes with a 20% off coupon for your next purchase of Bare Minerals foundation! I think that is a generous offer, and is something that I am going to use to try out their foundation, since I have never tried their liquid foundation before!

The makeup bag is very cute, I must say! I like how it has double compartments for your makeup or brushes so you can keep them separate when you travel. The inside is hot pink with some filigree designs that add to the adorableness of this bag. It's such a pretty touch!

Onto the goodies! This is what you get:

*Mini Well Rested Face And Eye Brightener
*Glee All Over Face Color
*Mini Flawless Application Face Brush
*Flawless Definition Mascara in Black
*Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Smooth Talker

This is a wonderful deal, so if you are wanting to try some makeup products that you have not tried before, pick this up at Ulta and test these out for yourself!

I have tried three of the four products and have reviews coming, so stay tuned!

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee' in Pink Escape

I have been intrigued by Josie Maran's beauty line at Sephora, especially since her products contain natural ingredients! So, when I purchased a kit at Sephora that included her Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee' in the color Pink Escape, I was eager to test this out!

These retail for $22.00 each on Sephora.com and it comes in nine colors total.

The claim of this product is that (among other ingredients) it is infused with argan oil, along with fifty percent coconut water that is to instantly hydrate. This promises to deliver up to fourteen hours of color and hydration. This is supposed to give the look of a cream blush with the long-lasting color of a gel stain.

Before I dipped my fingers into the product

After I dipped my fingers into the product

When I first touched the product, I was pleased, because the texture of this product is a firm, almost rubbery gel. When first opened, it looks almost like liquid because it is so shiny, but after using it, you can see that it takes on that solid gel appearance.

You can use either your fingertips or a brush to apply this product, so I used my fingertips to get a feel for how this product performs. This feels so lightweight, as if it sinks into your skin making you feel as if your not wearing anything on your cheeks.

Pink Escape, One Swipe

The satin left behind after swatching on my arm!

When using my fingers to apply this product I get a wash of color with the first application and it looks so natural, despite the color in the pot. The color comes across a bright fuchsia, but when applied to the cheeks, it is a flush of deep rose. Like any stain, you have to work fast with the product and quickly blend it out, otherwise you will be left with unevenness and strong color in patches on your cheeks. So, use just a little bit on the first application and take it from there!

The longevity of the wear time of this is average. I have not wore this for fourteen hours straight, but I have wore this several times on a typical day, from morning til evening time around 6:00, and I do notice some fading, probably because I have an oily face. But, it holds well throughout the important parts of the day.
For those who are sensitive to smell of beauty products, you will be pleased to know that this has absolutely no scent whatsoever!

I can foresee this product lasting quite a long while since all you truly need is just a little bit, so you are getting your money's worth.

Would I purchase this product on it's own with the $22.00 price tag? Hmmm… I love how natural this looks,  how easy this is to apply, and the formula and texture is pretty cool, but I am not amazed or in love with this. I don't hate this on any level, it just doesn't blow me away.

I guess it's just one of those products that I wished I had fallen head over heels for…

Feel free to share what your thoughts about the product are!

Sephora Favorites Glitz And Glam Kit

There is so much makeup in this world, and not a lot of money to try it all, so when Sephora comes out with goodie kits full of samples (and sometimes deluxe or full sized samples) I can't help but give into my weakness and lay my money down for it!

I picked up Sephora's Glitz And Glam Party Sampler kit for $45 dollars featuring day to night makeup. The description on the back says that this contains eight of their most dazzling products plus a chic clutch (including four flu sized products).

The clutch is a soft creamy metallic ivory with an underlaying golden print that is absolutely adorable! Personally, I would not use this a clutch for a glamorous night on the town, because it screams makeup bag to me, but it serves the purpose of holding small items that you might want to travel with.

Here are the goodies that come hidden inside this cute little bag!

*Josie Maran Coconut Cheek Gelee (0.18 oz)
*Lancome Hypnose Star in Noir Midnight (0.135 fl oz)
*Nails Inc Kensigton Caviar Gel Effect Plumping Top Coat (0.17 fl oz)
*Nars Lip Gloss in Gold Digger (0.11 fl oz)
*Sephora Collection False Eye Lashes in Celebrity (1 pair)
*Stila Stay All Day 10-In-One HD Illuminating Beauty Balm with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (0.34 fl oz)
*Too Faced 3 Way Lash Lining Tool (0.02 fl oz)
*Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Cowboy (0.05 oz)

I had never tried any one of these products before, so I knew this was the kit that I had wanted to buy. I have tested out one of these products thus far and plan on testing all of these out for you guys (and myself!) and I will let you know my true thoughts on these goodies!

Sample kits are a great way to try several different products, and most of the samples inside those kits will last a good long while, giving you enough time to get a solid opinion about the product and if you want to purchase the full sized version.

Spehora always has beauty kits available through out the year, but now that the holiday seasons are approaching, even more sensational kits will be hitting the shelves, so keep your eyes open for them.

 I know I sure will!

Mally's Cancellation Concealer System Review

I have never been much into concealers, but I was intrigued to try one just for kicks and to get an idea of what I thought about concealers in general. Well, I have been obsessing with Mally Beauty products for awhile and heard good things about her concealer and decided to place an order for one of her starter kits that she sells on her website, mallybeauty.com, that included the full sized cancellation concealer system!

I must say, what I adore about her starter kits, is that you get FULL SIZED products in a kit for a super reasonable price, so if you want to try something in her line, check out her kits first to see if you can snag it along with other goodies in a kit!

Anywho…

The Fierce Face In Five Minutes kit sales for $39.95 on her website and comes with a bunch of goodies, but for this review we will stick to her concealer system. If I where to purchase this system on it's own it would retail for $35.00, so this kit was an instant savings. Refill pans are available for $15.00 each.

Let's start with the product itself.

I got the color in Light/Medium. I knew Fair would be too light for me and Tan would be too dark. This color seems to work well for my skin tone.

The claims of the concealer are that it instantly covers dark circles, small flaws and blemishes, and you never have to worry about this caking.
As for the translucent powder that accompanies this system, it sets the concealer to make it last.

As for the concealer, oh my, was I instantly blown away, causing me to wonder why I had gone without this in my life! Firstly, the texture of this product initially is creamy, but it transforms into a powder consistency when applied. I really enjoy cream to powder products, I feel it gives more coverage and is easier to apply, but lasts longer as it transforms into powder.

The creaminess of this concealer is so lightweight, it almost feels like you have nothing on! I love how there is nothing heavy about this, which is amazing, considering the coverage it gives! The bonus is, this does not settle into my fine lines under my eyes not does it cake up! This made me fall into absolute love!

The translucent powder is the perfect setting powder for the concealer because it is so lightweight it won't cake up or settle into fine lines. When used with Mally's brush, it gives just a dusting of what you need to set the concealer.

When I look at the powder in the pan, there is a touch of fine sparkle to this, but not enough to cause me to worry. Because, when it is applied, you don't even notice sparkle. Maybe that is the beauty of this powder and what makes it such a complimentary highlight.

First Swatch: Heavy swatch of the concealer
Second Swatch: Concealer blended out
Third Swatch: Heavy swatch of the powder
Fourth Swatch: Powder blended out

Now, talking about the coverage, I am a tiny bit confused… I feel as if this is a brightening concealer, not necessarily a concealer to hide blemishes. Maybe I did get the wrong color, but when I wear it under my eyes, it completely hides my dark circles, but it also adds a flattering highlight effect to them that I am not sure I want on my blemishes! For that reason, I highly recommend this for dark circles and anywhere else you want to highlight, like the bridge of your nose or the inner corners of your eyes.

This stays put all the day long, so you don't have to worry about it melting off or fading away as the day goes by.

It is beautiful!

The packing of this product is well thought out! I really like how thin and compact this case is, because you can travel so easily with this since sit doesn't take up a lot of room in your bag.

The color of the packaging is Mally's signature pink, but what I really like is the grey snake skin detail going along the sides. It really breaks up the pink and makes the pink feel grown up and sophisticated.

You can see that the snake skin detail continues on inside the packaging, a nice little surprise. You can rest assured that the magnetic closure on this packaging is reliable and secure. You do not have to worry about flimsiness and the top pulling away leaving your makeup unprotected. I really appreciate how this holds tightly closed!

The mirror is a true mirror, and big enough and handy enough to use while applying the concealer and powder inside.

You might have noticed the brush that comes along with this system, and how it is double sided! I love the convenience of double sided brushes, especially when you travel. And as you can see, it's just the right size, just a little bit longer than the width of my hand.

Never having used a concealer brush before, since I never used concealers to begin with, I cannot give you any comparisons. But, I think this is wonderful for applying the concealer here, because it picks up the right amount of product. Because it is flat (like most concealer brushes) it blends out beautifully and does't leave streaks.

Now, the fluffy side, oh my! I was not prepared for how soft this brush is! It is fluffy and gentle on the under eyes. It picks up just enough of the powder, making sure that all you get is what you need. I love this brush and am not sure I can find a better one!

I think that concealer is an important part of a beauty regime, and if you want to use concealer, you want to use the right one. So, spending more on a concealer is worth it, especially if it won't settle into fine lines or slide down your face. Give this concealer system a try, I am so glad I did, because I found my holy grail concealer!

Where Have I Been For The Past Five Months?!?

I have to apologize for not keeping up with my blog for the past few months, yet once again… The fact that I had been neglecting this blog had been nagging on my mind for the longest time, and I feel I owe you an explanation…

Well, back in November we had put our house up for sale, it was almost a spur of the moment decision, even though we had talked about doing that for the past two years. It just felt like the time was right and decided to put it on the market and see what would happen. Well, our house was sold in less than a week, for a fabulous offer! So… We where on the hunt for a house, and long story short, it was a nightmare transaction and we had to move into a friends house for a week and than my parents house for a week and a half.

We finally moved into our brand new home sometime in the middle of February, and we have been trying to settle and we are still settling. But, I feel I can get back to blogging about my love of make up, because I honestly have missed it and I have purchased some awesome makeup over the past few months that I want to share with you.

For awhile I had been wanting to do something different with the website, because I feel as if in some ways I have outgrown the style just a bit. I want to bring you more organized, efficient, and straight forward reviews on products, especially since we all are in a hurry now days and want to get to the point of everything as fast as possible.

This is still a work in progress and there are some more features that I want to add to my website and other things that I want to do with my make up reviews.

So, hopefully you stick with me on this journey and help me to spread the word!

Thanks for your patience with me!

Review Of Maybelline's Clean Express Makeup Remover

I know what you are thinking!     You are thinking that I have already done a review about this exact same product, but I will tell you something… you're WRONG!

I had purchased multiple times and loved their liquid formula and went to go repurchase it but accidentally grabbed a different one. I had no idea this came in more than one formula. This one I am going to review for you today is my favorite thus far and cannot believe I went without it for so long.

The bottle looks exactly the same as the other one.

What I really like is that it has a squeeze tube top, and not an open bottle top where you pour the product out, possibly wasting more than you need.

Here are the claims on the back of the bottle:

This is such a delightful product because it breaks down the makeup, especially the mascara, so quickly and effortlessly. It claims that the gel is cooling, and it really is, it feels refreshing.

The gel is thick so you really only need a little bit for it to work instantly!

In the picture above, I am showing you how thick it really is. It slowly slides down my hand, and even then, the dibble is thick, if you will :)

So, I highly recommend this to you. It is so affordably that it is cheap! And what matters mostly, is that it works AWESOME!

So, go get a bottle for yourself and be prepared to be amazed!
