Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Makeup Lotion

I do not love the look of my bare legs in a pair of shorts, because I have scars and veins that show on my legs, so they are definitely not flawless! About nine years ago I discovered Sally Hansen's Airbrush Leg Makeup in it's spray-on form, and I loved it to the point that I could not go without it, especially if I was showing my legs off in shorts or a skirt. So, when Sally Hansen came out with the lotion version of this product, I knew I would have to give it a try!

The product claims that this formula is full coverage and is waterproof and will not transfer, which is highly important when wearing leg makeup!

I won't lie, this product does get messy when squeezing it out of the tube, but I remember when I used the spray version of this, I would spray the product into my hand and than rub onto my legs and the product got a little messy. So, I love the lotion version of this even more because it is just so easy to use since all you have to do is squeeze the product directly into your hand.

As you apply this, the bottle will get messy as it is handled in between layers, but all you have to do is wipe the bottle down after you are done using it and it is good to go!

This is a thick product and very full coverage, as it promises! I would use just a little bit at a time because this product spreads so easily and gives an instant coverage to your legs. This is build able, but try not to layer too much, otherwise your legs may look extremely fake.

I wore this product with a skirt that has a white lining and there was absolutely no transfer whatsoever! And I wore it for almost twelve hours that day, so I was highly pleased! This seems to instantly dry after it is rubbed onto the legs, but I would advise you to wait at least a minute or two before putting on your shorts or skirts just for peace of mind that it is transfer resistant at that point.

BEFORE

AFTER

Look at the before and after shots! There is an extreme difference in the color of my legs and it definitely helps to cover the imperfections. I used one layer of lotion on my legs, just for reference. To me, one layer looks natural and gives a nice color.

The color I purchased is the color Tan/Bronze. I believe this product comes in two shades that are lighter than this and one more that is darker. It was about $10.00 at Target, which I think is a great price for something that works so well. I only use mine on those occasions when I need my legs to look close to perfect!

I would repurchase this in a heartbeat, and it is one of those products that I could never be without since I may never know when I might need it!

I highly recommend this!

Smashbox On The Rocks Always Sharp Liner Set

When I was browsing Sephora a few weeks ago, I picked up Smashbox On The Rocks Always Sharp Liner Set, because I have not tried out a lot of  Smashbox products before and thought this would be a great start. I could always use an eyeliner, that's for sure!

One of these full sized eyeliners retails for $20.00 at Sephora, but you get five full size eyeliners for $39.00, which has a value of $100.00! I knew I could not pass this set up, because it was such an outstanding deal!

I love the idea of these self sharpening pencils, because there is nothing that is more irritating than when I am applying makeup and I reach for an eyeliner and find that it is flat and unsharpened, and so are the next few that I reach for! I know it's weird, but sharpening eyeliners is one of those things that I procrastinate on… So I adore that these self sharpen!

All you have to do for the tip to self sharpen is twist off the cap and without fail, every single time, you will get a finely pointed tip! How easy is that!?

I will tell you something I do not care for, and it is highly personal, is that there is no way to extend the product further out than what is pictured above in the picture. The very top of the pencil twists for some reason, but it doesn't twist the tip of the liner out. So, I am not sure why it would twist at all….

The colors you get are:

*Midnight (blue)- Limited Edition
*Sumatra (brown)
*3D Night Gem (grey with silver sparkles)- Limited Edition
*3D Orchid (purple with pink sparkles)
*Raven (black)

Smashbox says that these are rich in color, so let me tell you my experience with these liners!

Smashbox Always Sharp Liner:
3D Orchid
Left: One swipe
Right: Color built up

I love purple eyeliners, so I was excited that this set came with a purple, and it had pink glitter! As you can see from the swatch, 3D Orchid liner is not very opaque, it tended to skip when I was using it to line my lash line. You have to go over the line a few times to get the color built up, otherwise it looks like a grey. The pink glitter in this is undetectable when applied to the lash line. The texture is a little dry when applied and is not as creamy as I like an eyeliner to be.

Smashbox Always Sharp Liner
3D Night Gem
Left: One swipe
Right: Color built up

It is the same song for the grey color, 3D Night Gem.  It is not opaque so you really have to go over your line a few times to get a rich color. And the sparkle is very subtle, it goes unnoticed when worn on the lash line. This texture also is dry and not creamy like I would hope it to be. I found both these liners with the glitter to apply with a dry texture.

Smashbox Always Sharp Liner
Midnight
Left: One swipe
Right: Color built up

Midnight is a beautiful matte turquoise-navy blue, such a beautiful color! This was a little creamier when applied, but still not the creamiest eyeliner I have used, which is a little disappointing. You also have to build this color up to make it opaque,  because one swipe and it is dull.

Smashbox Always Sharp Liner
Raven
Left: One swipe
Right: Color built up

When I buy a black eyeliner, I expect it to be a deep dark black! Raven is lacking in pigment, because it is a dull black and as with the others, you have to build the color up. You can see from the swatches that it is not one of the creamier liners either. With a creamy eyeliner, you get one opaque line of color. As with all of these ones so far, they skip.

Smashbox Always Sharp Liner
Sumatra
Left: One swipe
Right: Color built up

I will say this about Sumatra, this one performed the best out of all five! It was the creamiest of the bunch, even though it is not the most opaque brown I have ever seen. This one will be the most reached for of the set, but as you can see from the picture above, when you build up the color it becomes more rich.

These are said to be a waterproof kohl liner and you can use these on your inner rim, but I have worn these different shades and after a few hours I have found that they do smear on the outer edge of my upper lids. They have transferred from my upper lash line to my brow bone area. Basically, these do not stay strong for all day wear.

Overall, I am disappointed and unimpressed with these eyeliners and will not be trying anymore of these. These where a bummer and a fail product from Smashbox, which is not exactly a great first impression of the line.

Let me know what your favorite tried and true products are from Samshbox so I can give them a try myself. I would love to know what products have impressed you!

Too Faced Melted Kisses Lip Swatch: Melted Fuchsia

Remember when I reviewed Too Faced Melted Kisses gift box a few days ago? It comes with a variety of colors, and there was one very pretty color that I would never be brave enough to wear out in public: Melted Fuchsia.

I wanted to show you just how bright it is on the lips when I decided to swallow my fears and wear it grocery shopping (I know, right!?!) one day…

I was not kidding when I said it was Hot Bright Pink!

Needless to say, I did blot it down and got the color to a point where it wasn't so bright. Than I was comfortable to wear it out, because I truly cannot let a beautiful color go to waste, right?

Bite Beauty Neutral Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo: Lychee And Musk

I am a lip junkie and had to jump on the bandwagon and try out Bite Beauty's much raved about lipsticks. Everywhere I turn, people are singing their praises, so I had to give this lipstick a try. So, on spehora.com I purchased Bite Beauty Neutral Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo in the colors Musk and Lychee for $12.00.

A full sized tube of this lipstick retails for $24.00 and comes in 32 different colors that is appealing and pleasing to every taste. What I thought was intriguing was the fact that these are made with food grade ingredients and are organic and natural, so these are a wonderful choice for those who appreciate organic friendly makeup. The claim is that this lipstick is rich in color and moisturizing for the lips.

These lipstick duos come in two different choices, Neutral or Vivid. I chose the Neutral duo, even though the Vivid duo looked so pretty! I already have colors similar in my lip collection to the brighter duo, and I reasoned that I can wear neutral colors daily, so I thought I would get more use of this one.

The tube is so tiny, smaller than I thought it would be, as it is smaller than the palm of my hand! Yet, I had to reason with myself that this is a generous sample of two different colors of an expensive lipstick, so in the long run, this is a pretty good deal! And just think, you get to put two lipsticks in your purse and it will only take up the space of one!

Bite Beauty : Lychee

Bite Beauty : Musk

Bite Beauty Lipstick
Left: Musk
Right: Lychee

The two colors you get here are definitely very pretty and very neutral, great for everyday wear when you don't want to have to think about what to put on your lips. Musk is a warmer brown-nude, which flatters my skin tone better than Lychee, which is a cool toned pink.

I was so pleased that these glide smoothly on the lips giving the lips a saturation of color. Creme finishes are my favorite and these do not disappoint! They give color and shine to the lips, giving the lips a full appearance.

But, I will say that after wearing them for awhile, these tend to dry out my lips! I was really baffled, because I thought that these where supposed to be moisturizing, full of natural ingredients that where beneficial to the lips! I tried these a few times, but still,  I came up with the same conclusion: They were drying. Not overly drying, but dry. Not something I love from a lipstick that claims to moisturize.

A lot of people proclaim their love for these lipsticks, but I could not bring myself to see what was so special about these. If you are someone who likes to purchase natural ingredient cosmetics, than these are for you and the price tag would be worth it for you.

Yet, since I could not fall under its spell, I will not be repurchasing these. Thank goodness for trial sizes, they let you play with the makeup before deciding to splurge on the full sized or not!

NARS Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Gold Digger

I had never tried a NARS lip gloss before so when I purchased a beauty set that included a deluxe sample of NARS Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in the color Gold Digger, I was excited to give this gloss a try!

The full size gloss retails for $26.00 and comes in seventeen different colors on sephora.com. When I read the price tag, I must admit that I was shocked! I thought that the gloss had better be unique and special in order for me to pay almost thirty bucks for a tube of gloss!

The applicator on the wand is like a small tipped paint brush and is perfect for applying the gloss to the lips. The brush is small enough and dense enough that it applies the product smoothly to the lips and offers easy application.

When swatched, the color is absolutely boring… In the tube it looks as if the color is a sparkly golden shade, but as you can see, it is a clear gloss with gold glitter with very fine silver shimmer.

Yet, when I applied it to my lips, I saw the prettiness of this gloss reveal itself. For sure, it is nothing more than a clear gloss, but the gold and silver shimmer is what gives the lips a pretty shine. It made my lips look full and shiny, like they where all dressed up for a night out! (LOL)

Now, because this gloss is so shimmery, I would not wear this during the day as I go about my usual tasks, but I would wear it on a special night out because it just looks fancy and fun on the lips.

Now, the texture is sticky, as most glosses are, but the stickiness of the product makes the gloss stay on longer without having to reapply as often. But, sticky lipgloss does get annoying after awhile when hair gets caught and stuck and such. So, if thick sticky glosses are not your thing, than you might not love this gloss.

Personally, I think that there are other glosses out there from drugstore brands that will give you this same effect for a much cheaper price. $26.00 is way too steep for a lip gloss in my opinion. Especially since this one did not blow me away!

Too Faced Melted Kisses Gift Box

I have always been curious about Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, but what deterred me from buying one was the price tag. I wasn't sure if I would love the product and I didn't want to spend the money on it and end up feeling disappointed and left wondering, what was so special about these? So, I was excited when I saw a gift set called Melted Kisses that included four deluxe sized samples of Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks!

I purchased this for a steal at Sephora for $25.00! One full sized product retails for $21.00, so this is the perfect gift set to buy for yourself to test the lipstick out to see if this is something you love enough to buy the full sized version of. Or, if you know a lipstick lover out there, this will be the perfect gift!

Too Faced claims that this is a long wear formula that will leave you with a stain on your lips. It is supposed to give you the shine of a gloss but the pigmentation of a lipstick. So, I gave these a whirl to see if they lived up to these promises!

When I first applied this I quickly realized that all I needed to do was squeeze just a little bit of the product out of the tube, because the pigmentation is insane! The texture is so creamy that it spreads smoothly onto the lips with a burst of beautiful color.

Because this is a long wear formula, this isn't going to be a creamy hydrating lipstick/gloss, but neither it is suffocatingly drying. There are some matte and long wear lipsticks out there that will leave you with dry and chapped lips, but not these! These are creamy enough to leave your lips feeling smooth, but as the day goes on and you eat and drink you will lose that shine and creamy feeling and will be left with your lips feeling just a little dry. BUT, it's not a horribly drying feeling.

As for the color that is left on your lips after a few hours, it holds well! Of course, there is fading, but the color is still there, just toned down and muted. You can reapply the lipstick on top and it applies like a dream, still creamy and smooth without looking cakey.

For those who are concerned about scent, there is a subtle sweet scent to these, but it is not sickly sweet at all. It's so subtle, some people may not even notice it. After applying it, the scent does fade away very quickly.

The applicator is an angled velvet tip with fine holes where the product squeezes out, and remember just a little is enough, so squeeze gently! The claim is that this applicator is supposed to give you a precise application, which it truly does. I think because the applicator is angled, it fits and glides right along the lines of your lips easily. You could also use a lip brush that would allow for even more perfect application.

I am sure you are awaiting the swatches, so without further ado, here they are!

Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia, Melted Berry

Aren't they just gorgeous colors!? I will say that Melted Fuchsia is definitely a lot more hot pink than the camera is picking up, so this color is not for the faint of heart!

Overall, I think that this set has enough variety for people of all color tastes and preferences to be satisfied, and you will get a color or two that maybe isn't in your comfort zone. But, it sure is nice to have some colors to play with and have on hand for special occasions!

Purchasing this set has satisfied my curiosity and has started me longing to purchase a full size of another color or few to add to my collection. Sephora has ten whole colors to chose from that range from neutral to bold, so I cannot wait to play around with them!

Get your hands on this gift set, for yourself or a friend, and I promise you that you will not be disappointed!

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee' in Pink Escape

I have been intrigued by Josie Maran's beauty line at Sephora, especially since her products contain natural ingredients! So, when I purchased a kit at Sephora that included her Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee' in the color Pink Escape, I was eager to test this out!

These retail for $22.00 each on Sephora.com and it comes in nine colors total.

The claim of this product is that (among other ingredients) it is infused with argan oil, along with fifty percent coconut water that is to instantly hydrate. This promises to deliver up to fourteen hours of color and hydration. This is supposed to give the look of a cream blush with the long-lasting color of a gel stain.

Before I dipped my fingers into the product

After I dipped my fingers into the product

When I first touched the product, I was pleased, because the texture of this product is a firm, almost rubbery gel. When first opened, it looks almost like liquid because it is so shiny, but after using it, you can see that it takes on that solid gel appearance.

You can use either your fingertips or a brush to apply this product, so I used my fingertips to get a feel for how this product performs. This feels so lightweight, as if it sinks into your skin making you feel as if your not wearing anything on your cheeks.

Pink Escape, One Swipe

The satin left behind after swatching on my arm!

When using my fingers to apply this product I get a wash of color with the first application and it looks so natural, despite the color in the pot. The color comes across a bright fuchsia, but when applied to the cheeks, it is a flush of deep rose. Like any stain, you have to work fast with the product and quickly blend it out, otherwise you will be left with unevenness and strong color in patches on your cheeks. So, use just a little bit on the first application and take it from there!

The longevity of the wear time of this is average. I have not wore this for fourteen hours straight, but I have wore this several times on a typical day, from morning til evening time around 6:00, and I do notice some fading, probably because I have an oily face. But, it holds well throughout the important parts of the day.
For those who are sensitive to smell of beauty products, you will be pleased to know that this has absolutely no scent whatsoever!

I can foresee this product lasting quite a long while since all you truly need is just a little bit, so you are getting your money's worth.

Would I purchase this product on it's own with the $22.00 price tag? Hmmm… I love how natural this looks,  how easy this is to apply, and the formula and texture is pretty cool, but I am not amazed or in love with this. I don't hate this on any level, it just doesn't blow me away.

I guess it's just one of those products that I wished I had fallen head over heels for…

Feel free to share what your thoughts about the product are!

Have A Great Day!
